As a wildlife technician, you get to do all the same detective work as a pest control technician, but with a specialty in detecting wildlife issues, wildlife removal, prevention and exclusion repairs on residential and commercial buildings. This job is especially crucial considering the extensive damage wildlife can cause to homes and other structures. Proper wildlife removal is essential in keeping homes and businesses protected from structural damage and you would be on the front lines of finding and fixing these issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following (other duties may be assigned):

· Lead with a safety-first mindset

· Wildlife trapping and removal

· Removing animals trapped in exclusion devices.

· Exclusion and preventative services.

· Wildlife damage repair.

· Interacting with customers and explaining services provided.

· Completing production forms documenting services provided.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

· Diploma or GED achieved.

· Must have a valid driver license.

· Professional, pleasant, and respectful demeanor

· Strong sense of urgency to serve customers and maintain facility standards.

As a Wildlife technician, you would have to work in many different types of environments – a typical day can take you both inside and outside people’s homes, inside storage facilities, restaurants and everywhere in between. You will be required to inspect, crawl and work in sub-areas, basements and attics of structures. Ability to communicate effectively with customers about what their pest problem is and how you will solve it. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is essential for normal conversations and interactions with customers, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents.

Use and maintain safety equipment. Work with and around pest control products that have been approved for use by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to control pest and follow labels appropriately. Operate company vehicles, power sprayers, foggers, dusters, drills, vacuums, and a variety of common hand and power tools and other equipment. Perform minor repairs on tools and related equipment as needed.
