Provide Clinical oversight and supervision to the Women's Health Programs of the Coastal Health District. Provide healthcare services and medical procedures related to Women's Health. Conduct complete physicals, provide treatment, and counsel clients related to general Woman's Health and Family Planning. May, in some cases, prescribe medication. Will be based out of the Savannah District Office but will require some occasional day time travel through the eight counties of the Coastal Health District (Bryan, Camden, Chatham, Effingham, Glynn, Liberty, Long, and McIntosh).

All Coastal Health District, County Health Department employees are deemed essential employees in the event of an emergency. As such, you may be called on to participate in an event not limited to but including, staffing a shelter, a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) and/or Point of Dispensing site (POD). When you are called on to participate, you are expected and it will be a part of your job requirement to participate, whether the emergency occurs during or outside regular work hours.

Job Responsibilities

Develops comprehensive plans of care.
Examines clients to obtain information about their physical condition.
Instructs and counsels clients about prescribed therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, emotional problems of daily living, and health maintenance.
Interprets diagnostic test results for deviations from normal.
Makes tentative diagnoses and decisions about management and treatment of clients.
Obtains, compiles and records client medical data, including health history, progress notes and results of physical examination.
Performs therapeutic procedures, such as injections, immunizations, suturing and wound care, infection management, colposcopy, IUD implantation, etc.
Prescribes therapy or medication with physician approval.
May supervise professional and/or clerical staff.
Assists with training expanded-role of RN's
May serve as a mentor and/or preceptor for APRN's

Minimum Qualifications

Doctorate or Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university and/or other education requirements approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing AND Certification in the specialty area(s) approved by Georgia Board of Nursing AND Two years PH experience AND Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse AND Georgia License as a APRN AND Current certification in specialty area AND CPR certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous Public Health experience strongly preferred; previous experience administering services in the areas of family planning. Must be comfortable working with clients of all ages.
