This position is designed to be 70% youth development and 30% administrative.

Salary Range: $24.00-27.00 hourly

Membership and Youth Development Specialist Overview

A Membership and Youth Development Specialist directly impacts the lives of our Club members by engaging in safe, interactive programs and learning experiences. This full-time role will be split between two areas of focus- assisting in membership in the morning and the daily delivery of a wide variety of developmentally appropriate youth programs and activities in the afternoon.

A Membership and Youth Development Specialist is a self-motivated and positive individual who can balance an energetic, fun youth focused atmosphere with professionalism and maturity. They serve as a role model for all Club Members and is expected to participate in all activities and motivate and inspire our youth to engage as well.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assist with the planning and implementation of Club programs and ensure quality youth engagement
  • Monitor and participate in youth activities to create a safe and positive learning environment for all Club members
  • Build meaningful, positive relationships with youth and families
  • Communicate professionally with Club members, parents, and staff
  • Model positive behaviors for children and staff
  • Maintain ongoing knowledge of the Club (locations, program, staff members, and club members) and give relevant information to parents/community
  • Maintain ongoing knowledge of different memberships and financial assistance programs
  • Be the face of the Club and be the point of contact for parents in person and over the phone
  • Perform daily membership tasks including issuing refunds, adjusting accounts (applying discounts, correcting payments, etc.), adding/removing members from the waitlist, marketing, creating memberships, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Demonstrated experience working with youth, parents/guardians, and community partners
  • Excellent customer service
  • Enjoys human interaction and connection
  • Comfortable with technology
  • Detail oriented
  • Demonstrated experience working in a team environment
  • Strong communications skills, both oral and written
  • Must be at least 21 years old and have a high school diploma
  • Must pass National Background Check
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
  • Six months to a year of previous experience working in a Boys & Girls Club or similar youth development setting
  • Bilingual in Spanish or Mandarin is a plus
  • Preferred availability includes Monday-Friday, 10:00-6:30

COVID INFORMATION:
  • All Club staff, volunteers, and anyone that enters the Club facilities will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. A person is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after having all does of a vaccine (2 doses for Pfizer, Moderna; 1 dose for Johnson & Johnson).
