The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences, College of Arts and Sciences, at Texas A&M University invites applications for three full-time non-tenure track positions with a 9-month academic appointment beginning Fall 2023. Applicants will be considered for the faculty titles of Instructional Assistant Professor, Instructional Associate Professor, Instructional Professor, Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, or Principal Lecturer based on expertise, experience, and departmental need. We are particularly interested in candidates with a strong background in at least one of the following: cognitive and behavioral neuroscience, developmental psychology, industrial-organizational psychology, social psychology, personality psychology, and diversity science but are open to many specialties. Additionally, we anticipate successful candidates to teach introductory psychology and/or courses in our research methods and statistics core. We seek candidates who have a strong record of instruction and dedication to student success, and for those candidates seeking a position within the instructional title, we seek candidates who also have a record of commitment to service to undergraduate programs.
Courses will be taught primarily in person in College Station, Texas, with the occasional online or hybrid (in person and online) course. Faculty in the lecturer titles have a 4-4 course load with no service or research expectations, whereas faculty in the instructional titles have a 3-3 course load with service expectations but no research expectations.
The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Texas A&M University is a community of scholars committed to generating scientific discoveries in the discipline, providing rigorous undergraduate and graduate education, and engaging in outreach about psychology and the application of psychological science. We offer doctoral programs in clinical psychology, cognition and cognitive neuroscience, social and personality psychology, industrial/organizational psychology, and behavioral and cellular neuroscience, and a Master's program in industrial/organizational psychology. We currently have 48 full-time faculty, over 100 graduate students, and over 2,000 undergraduate majors. We have three undergraduate degrees: BA-Psychology, BS-Psychology, and BS-Neuroscience, focused on behavioral and cognitive neuroscience.
