Essential Functions

• Admit and discharge residents in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
• Contribute meaningfully to resident care plans when needed and cooperate in the implementation of those plans.
• Assist residents with daily living activities, such as oral hygiene, dressing and undressing, and bathing; food consumption; and bowel and bladder needs.
• Assist residents in preparing for activities, physician visits, religious services, therapy appointments, tests, etc.; provide transportation to and from such appointments/activities.
• Understand procedures and regulations to help weigh, transfer, and restrain patients as needed.
• Ensure the call system is attached to the bed or within easy reach at all times and answer calls promptly.
• Assist with first aid.
• Accurately and efficiently chart all required/requested information.
• Clean and adequately supply bedside units, walkers, wheelchairs, utility areas, the nourishment pantry, the staff lounge, and the linen room; make beds, both occupied and unoccupied; oversee residents’ clothing needs.
• Attend meetings and participate on committees as requested.
• Attend and participate in workshops and seminars to enhance skills as well as to maintain a professional status.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as directed.
