Construction Site Supervisor Job at Habitat for Humanity
The
Construction Site Supervisor is responsible for the coordination and supervision of build site activities including site preparation, training and leading construction volunteers, ensuring safety and building code standards are met, etc. This position works closely with volunteers, homebuyer families, and other staff to fulfill our mission of bringing people together to build homes, communities and hope!
Requirements:
Time Requirements: Full Time (40 hours weekly); typical workweek is Tuesday through Saturday
Permits and Licenses: Valid driver’s license
Salary: $45,000 - $50,000 (Salary, Non-Exempt)

Key Responsibilities:
Keep the warehouse neat, orderly and secure. Track the inventory stored and utilized from this location.
Keep assigned vehicle, trailer and tools in working order, orderly and secure. Inspect vehicles daily and maintain a regular preventative maintenance schedule.
Stay abreast of Best Practices in the building industry, safety, Energy Star requirements and construction techniques. Recommend changes in the build process to maximize efficiency and energy savings.
Follow-up on all warranted items in a timely manner in the first year after construction, should repairs be needed and/or
requested.
Assist with other construction projects.
Assist other Habitat departments as assigned by the Senior Project Manager or Construction Director.

Requirements:

- High school graduate, or equivalent, with at least three years construction experience, including framing
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Self-starter with ability to work independently
- Ability to train and lead staff and volunteers
- Physical ability to perform and complete all work
- Experience operating a Bobcat and forklift
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
- Substance screening, criminal background check, driving record history, and reference check will be conducted on prospective employee prior to extension of a job offer

- Manage build process for assigned projects, ensuring houses are built to code, deadlines and budgets are met, proper safety policies are practiced and enforced and all inspections passed.
- Productively and proactively involve our partner families in the build process.
- Supervise procurement and on-site management of materials.
- Ensure site preparation is ready for each phase of the build.
- Manage and ensure that the support services are provided at each site.
- Train, mentor and supervise the work of both the professional and volunteer persons on each Lexington Habitat construction site.
