POSITION SUMMARY:
This is an excellent opportunity in Securonix who recently received a more than $1 billion growth investment led by Vista Equity Partners (“Vista”), a leading global investment firm focused exclusively on enterprise software, data and technology-enabled businesses, with participation from Volition Capital and Eight Roads Ventures. The investment gives Securonix the capital and expertise to continue its hyper growth trajectory while meeting record customer demand, further validating its leadership position in cloud-native security analytics and operations.
The Controller should have a strong business orientation combined with unquestionable integrity, ethics, and financial skills. They will have overall responsibility for monthly/quarterly closes, technical accounting, tax, audits, bank management, and creating and implementing control processes.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage monthly/quarterly accounting close as a public company.
- Support preparation of monthly/quarterly finance packages for reporting to investors.
- Finalize ERP Implementation from QuickBooks to NetSuite.
- Support revenue recognition with multiple elements (VSOE) - ASC 605 and ASC 606, EITF 00-21, SAB 104 etc.
- Support Deferred Revenue, Churn, Renewals, Commissions, Annual Recurring Booking and Revenue.
- Manage preparation and consolidation of Financials with various foreign entities and consolidations in accordance with ASC 810.
- Drive technical accounting on Cash Flow statement ASC 230, Foreign currency 830, Leases 842, deferred etc. and writing memos to present the position to management and auditors.
- Experienced in re-statement of Financials, preparation of Financials statements and leading external audits.
- Create and implement effective internal controls over the financial reporting process in order to maintain compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
- Manage various statutory requirements including sales & use tax audits, property tax filings, bank audit’s and local and federal income tax filings (actual tax filings prepared by local firm).
- Experience with Avalara for sales and use tax.
- Support CFO with quarterly reviews, annual audit, and other compliances.
- Experience with managing 5 to 10 people in the US and India.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- CPA with 15+ years progressive accounting experience.
- Big 4 accounting experience required.
- Software industry experience required.
- Demonstrated 7+ years of managing 10+ team members organization including global employees.
- Start-up experience preferred.
- Public company experiences helpful.
- S-1 knowledge, process, and filing helpful.
- Software Industry ($50M to $500M).
- Financial reporting, SOX and internal audit experience preferred.
- 5+ years of ERP experience required, preferred in NetSuite.
- Strong accounting and analytical skills, ability to problem solve, advanced spreadsheet capabilities, and solid organizational and communication skills required.
- Hands-on management style capable of executing at the detailed individual level or scaling to Board of Director conversations.
