Excellent Endocrinology/Diabetes Management Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Opening in Danbury, CT (Fairfield County, 70 miles from NYC)
Nuvance Health, formerly Western Connecticut Health, is seeking a full time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with experience in Endocrinology/Diabetes Management to join our established and busy employed practice in Danbury, Connecticut, (Fairfield County). We are located about 70 miles northeast of New York City and near the border of Westchester and Putnam Counties in NY. The practice includes five Endocrinologists and 1,000+ Advance Providers and excellent support staff. We offer a highly competitive compensation package, including allowances for CMEs and Dues expenses.
The ideal candidate will be a board certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with prior experience in Endocrinology/Diabetes Management. Candidates with strong internal medicine backgrounds and focus on endocrine/diabetes management will be considered. Position is outpatient based with a Monday-Friday schedule. No weekends or call. There will also be opportunity to expand coverage to other area office locations as we continue to grow the practice to meet the needs of our large primary care referral base.

Job Summary:
Provides medical care for patients in collaboration with a physician. Coordinates the clinical and administrative activities related to the office to ensure the delivery of quality, cost-effective patient care.
Responsibilities:
· Examines, evaluates, diagnoses and treats patients to provide expeditious, high quality, customer focused care
· Orders the appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures, and prescribers medical therapeutics as required to evaluate the state of the patient’s medical condition
· Interprets and integrates data to determine the appropriateness of the therapeutic treatment plan
· Consults with supervising physician in accordance with the practice’s policies and the medical standards to assure standards of medical care and patient satisfaction
· Records all symptom, objective findings, assessment, treatment plan and other information that is appropriate in the patient’s chart and signs the record
· Instructs the patient and family regarding the patent’s diagnosis, testing, expected outcome and future prevention
· Evaluates the outcome of the treatment plan by reviewing diagnostic results with the patient through phone calls and return visits
· Performs total quality improvement processes and initiatives to achieve the Practices mission
Job Requirements:
- This position requires a minimum formal education of Master Degree, State of CT RN and APRN license, CT Controlled Substances and Federal DEA Registration or Bachelor Degree and graduate of an approved Physician Assistant (PA) school and CT State Physician Assistant license and CT Controlled Substances and Federal DEA Registration.
· Prior experience as APRN or PA preferred in Endocrinology/Diabetes management but willing to consider Internal or Family Medicine, Primary Care, Pulmonary or Cardiac medicine
- Willingness to work Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 PM (no weekends, evening or call).
