The housekeeper will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and sanitary conditions throughout the entire facility in compliance with the Department of Health Standards under the direction of Housekeeping Director. Will work closely with facility Administrators and staff to maintain a safe, home-alike atmosphere. Maintain Rights of Residents as set forth by the Texas Department of Health Laws and Regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Other duties may be assigned with or without reasonable accommodations.changes bed linen.
cleans resident room, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, and other common areas.
sweeps and mops floors. dusts furniture and equipment.
Washes walls an woodwork.
Washes windows, door panels, and sills
empties trash and waste to disposal area.
Replenishes supplies in resident suites, on housekeeping carts, and throughout the facility as required.
transports small equipment or tools between departments
Knowledgeable of and utilizes equipment safely and appropriately
performs minor maintenance tasks such as unplugging toilets, changing light bulbs, etc.
Assists residents to and from meals or activities on occasions as required.
Knowledgeable of and implements all safety, universal precautions, and Company policies/procedures for the protection of residents, co-workers, and self.
Physical, Cognitive, and Sensory Requirements:
Must be able to move intermittently throughout the work day.
Ability to remain calm under stress
Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel and support agencies.
Ability to demonstrate patience, tact, courtesy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
Must be able to relate to and work with the ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times hostile residents within the facility.
Ability to read and write English.
Must be able to lift and transfer a minimum of 50 pounds.
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Job Duties:
Other duties that may be assigned to assist in maintain quality standards and maintaining the facility as a viable and successful entity.
