Job Title: IT Procurement/It Buyers

Location: Manhattan, New York

Duration: 6-12months

Job Description:

The procurement professionals will assist with critical service and operating/capital construction / procurements that remain with Metro-North post-C&D Transformation, including but not limited to:

o on-going Operating-funded capital construction and state of good repair contracts

o New Jersey Transit West of Hudson services / construction contracts

o Connecticut Department of Transportation (CDOT) services / construction contracts

o East Side Access maintenance, support, and rehabilitation projects

o Penn Access transformation of Amtrak’s Hell Gate Line to bring four (4) Metro-North train stations to the East and South Bronx

o Positive Train Control (PTC) maintenance for Metro-North rolling stock and wayside equipment and systems

Responsibilities:

The procurement professionals should have the following:

o A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field. Demonstrated, directly related, equivalent experience and education may be considered in lieu of degree, subject to approval.

o Must possess a minimum of 2-3 years in a Procurement Department.

o Must possess knowledge of procurement principles and techniques.

o Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills.

Experience:

o Must possess a minimum of 2-3 years in a Procurement Department.

Education:

o A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field. Demonstrated, directly related, equivalent experience and education may be considered in lieu of degree, subject to approval.
