Job Details:
This is a full-time position, Monday – Friday, occasional nights/weekends as needed by job schedule. Wage rate is $20.00 – $25.00 per hour, based on prior job experience.
Position Summary:
The laborer/carpenter apprentice position for ECG will be responsible for support on our large projects for job completion in a timely and efficient manner. May be required to work out of town, if so, per diem, additional (out of town) pay, vehicle allowance and phone or phone allowance will be provided in addition to wages. Job advancement and career growth opportunities are also provided.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Must possess a high degree of professionalism and be eager and willing to learn.
- General knowledge of carpentry tools and uses such as: small tools, hammer, etc. and different types of equipment used in the carpentry field.
- You will be a field laborer/carpenter apprentice, training on existing job sites with experienced carpenters and superintendents.
- Positive team member willing to learn all aspects of job site construction.
- Be self-motivated and able to work independently and safely as needed with or without supervision.
- Ability to work effectively with your team members, sub-contractors on jobs and others who may be on the jobsite.
- Ability to read blueprints/designs/sketches is a plus but not required, will be taught on jobsite.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Must be able to travel to jobsites and have a Valid Driver’s License, good driving record and insurance.
- Ability to communicate professionally and accept constructive feedback.
- Ability to handle a fast paced-ever changing environment, while meeting the existing job deadlines and be a team player.
- Your own hand tools a plus. Power tools will be provided by company.
- Must be highly organized and keep the jobsite clean.
- Basic computer skills filling out daily reports/payroll or other required forms.
- Ability to work collaboratively with an inclusive-diverse workforce.
- Travel to jobsites as needed.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED
