Evergreen Packaging Equipment is located in the city of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with close proximity to Chicago. Initially begun in 1880 to service the dairy industry, EPE now manufactures gable-top carton filling machines, making Evergreen Packaging a fully vertically integrated carton provider for its customers. EPE has 170 team members and now has 1300 installed machines in over 50 countries.

Key accountabilities:
- Direct EHS activities to assure facility goals and objectives are achieved for areas of responsibility.
- Provide leadership to deliver new equipment parts and after-market parts on time and to meet the customer’s requirements with a commitment to doing it right the first time.
- Continuously improve the effectiveness of the machine shop and fabrication areas with an objective of quality and total customer satisfaction.
- Effectively manage employee relations and ensure that all rules and policies are being followed.
- Hire, evaluate and train new hires and employees who bid into the areas of responsibility.
- Participate in the selection/installation of capital equipment for the machine shop and fabrication areas.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a Business or Technical Related Field or 3-5 Years of Manufacturing Experience.
- Machine shop and/or fabrication experience.
- Must be familiar with appropriate measurements relating to safety, production, quality, resource requirements, and financial reports to accurately assess the operations and track improvements.
- Must demonstrate a commitment to positive relationships with employees.
- Analytical problem solving skills, strong organizational skills, good business judgment, and flexibility to deal with change are a must.
- Should be self-confident, assertive, principled, disciplined, and direct when necessary and diplomatic when required, with a sense of humor and empathy for plant personnel in special circumstances.
- Should be results oriented and promote a winning attitude toward customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and people development.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Desirable:
- Experience in a Union environment.
- Hands on experience with SAP ERP system.
- Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
