This corporate IT position is responsible for all Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) functions in support of the 14 Cerner USPI hospital's mission, vision and facility goals. The manager develops an environment and culture that embraces continuous improvement and innovation to ensure USPI achieves best practice in all areas of the revenue cycle and materials management. The manager also ensures the RCM departments maximize the collectability of the various financial services performed (claims adjudication, collections, etc.). Also coordinates with other functional areas that impact or support Revenue Cycle to ensure appropriate collaboration and system wide efficiency of operations. Provides oversight of vital support services for the 14 USPI Cerner hospitals. The USPI Cerner hospitals are the only Tenet/USPI facilities that license and use the Cerner revenue cycle solution (RCM) and the Cerner supply chain and materials management solution (CIM). All 14 hospitals are dependent on the revenue cycle team to provide lights on support for these solutions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Interface with other Directors and Senior Leadership of USPI Hospital RCM, external and internal partners, USPI departments and staff.

Supervises: Managers and RCM Billing, Payments, Collections, HIM, Registration, Scheduling and Supply Chain/Materials Management team members.

Provide necessary support to USPI surgical hospitals end users.

Assist with testing of new Cerner RCM and CIM (Supply Chain) functionality or fixes.

Provide both remote and onsite support for USPI corporate teams and USPI hospitals

Engages in discussions with customers from various departments to define current and future state project requests requirements and provides best practice advice and recommendations.

Create plans for medium to large size projects (six months or more) that are clear in terms of roles, responsibilities, deliverables, and approval milestones.

Effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, with other EHR team professionals and hospital management in all aspects of the responsibilities of the implementation project.

Ability to analyze data and develop systems to accurately control financial activity within a hospital setting.

Be able to work with various internal groups and teams.

Possess the ability to manage multiple, simultaneous project tasks and deadlines in an implementation and production environment.

Must be able to serve as a resource to others where their knowledge or skills.

Must work with all departments, vendors, and project teams to implement and maintain a high quality, process driven solution that meets the process and technology requirements for USPI hospitals.

Be able to mentor to EHR analysts and team members on a technical level that they can comprehend.

Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Healthcare Administration or equivalent management experience.

Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT codes, and ICD-10 codes.

Expert level experience with Microsoft Office products.

Ability to create and build spreadsheets and reports in Excel.

Ability to demonstrate competence in management and leadership skills to develop and implement organizational strategies and opportunities for improving hospital growth.

Maintain current knowledge and adhere to appropriate regulatory standards such as Medicare.

Effective English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred:
Be able to document and develop complicated workflows.

Be able to develop business models by identifying critical business needs at a detailed process level.

5-8 years of previous RCM management experience in a healthcare related industry with hospital experience

Project management and operational implementation skills.

HFMA CRCR certification preferred but not required
