Job Summary:
The experienced Production Line Leader is responsible for operators on the assigned shift reporting any equipment challenges on the line and employee related issues to the Production Supervisor. The Line Leader will be responsible for ensuring the Production lines are running smoothly during the shift while communicating any necessary information to the Supervisor. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced operator to grow with the company. Hours: first shift: 5:15am-3:45pm., second shift: 3:45pm-2:15pm. Willing to work weekends, eligible for overtime.

Responsibilities:

  • Follow and enforce all GMPs, proper PPE requirements, safety rules, policies and procedures at all times while working on the Production floor
  • Assign operators to positions on the Production floor and awareness of the production schedule to ensure that all batches are approved
  • Ensure all supplies are staged for the next shift/day while communicating all activity on the shift is successfully passed to the next shift
  • Ensure operator paperwork is accurate and complete during the shift and at the end of the shift
  • Schedule and facilitate that lines are running through breaks and lunch
  • Record down time, reason for downtime, calculate oil usage and report when line speeds are not being met to the Supervisor on duty
  • Inform Blow molding of down time and stops during the shift
  • Ensure correct materials are available for weekly runs, perform cycle counts and update Infor
  • Assign changeover roles for operators, track time for changeovers and ensure CIP guidelines are followed
  • Perform quality checks throughout the shift on color, cloudiness, codes, and labels
  • Responsible for the first step with the complaint procedure process
  • Report near misses’ incidents, hold safety huddles and one on one safety contacts with employees
  • Assign overtime as needed with Supervisors approval
  • Perform basic trouble shooting with Production technicians, submit work orders, perform PM’s, and contact the Maintenance team when needed
  • Interface with Training and Development team to coordinate advanced training for operators
  • Assign housekeeping duties throughout the shift and assign tasks during down time
  • Performs duties per Pompeian's mission, goals and core values
  • All other tasks and duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Experience working on a Production floor in a manufacturing facility required
  • Extensive knowledge using manufacturing equipment and manufacturing procedures
  • Experience in a leadership role and/or supervisory skills
  • High school diploma or trade certification preferred
  • Standing for long periods of time, twist, squat and kneel, repetitive movements at times, climbing small stairs, and able to lift up to 10 pounds
  • Must demonstrate a can-do approach to motivate operators to reach their highest potential
  • Demonstrate a non-bias approach, lead by example, and improve morale as needed
  • Think outside the box and use all available resources for strong decision making
  • Able to effectively communicate with operators providing ongoing constructive feedback
  • Experience handling disciplinary action and making recommendations for promotions
  • Must have solid attendance
  • Must have viable transportation
