Recruiting Specialist - EVPL Human Resources

Start date: June 26, 2023

Minimum starting pay: $45,800 per year

Hours: Full-time 40 hours

Must be available to work all public service hours; which includes weekends and occasional Sundays.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Recruitment Specialist provides administrative support throughout all stages of the recruitment, selection, and hiring process while maintaining accurate recordkeeping and a high level of confidentiality and professionalism. The Recruitment Specialist supports the Training Specialist with onboarding activities such as new hire orientation and training and acts as their backup for onboarding training. The Recruitment Specialist also serves as the backup for HRIS processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

In cooperation with the Human Resources Team and other colleagues, the Human Resources Recruitment Specialist will advance the library’s mission, vision, strategic priorities, and brand. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain confidential records, files, and documents as assigned.
  • Maintain current application system to reflect current open positions and status.
  • Lead hiring teams through the hiring process to screen and select qualified candidates.
  • Answer employment related questions, from applicants, employees, supervisors.
  • Interact with managers regarding approval of hiring decisions and written documentation for employee files.
  • Use knowledge of behavioral techniques, including Federal and State guidelines to develop interview questions and assist in hiring.
  • Complete pre-employment screenings such as background checks and reference checks, extend job offer.
  • Accurately update candidate records and process rejection letters.
  • Coordinate logistics for new hire orientation and employee training.
  • Conduct new-hire onboarding documentation such as completion of payroll forms and review of benefits, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in training and employee onboarding.
  • Attend Job Fairs to represent EVPL.
  • In collaboration with the On-Site Clinic Wellness Team, develop and implement Wellness Programs.
  • Participate in special projects, or other duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic:

  • Associate’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • 2+ years’ experience using behavioral interviewing skills.
  • 2+ years’ experience in a Human Resources position.
  • 1+ years’ experience using applicant tracking database systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, as well as Google Suite products.
  • Must have the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding sensitive and private information.
  • High degree of professionalism, urgency, diplomacy, and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • 1+ years’ experience sourcing candidates from various databases or platforms.
  • 1+ years’ experience using an HRIS.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.

This position requires the occasional exertion of up to 25 pounds of force. Work regularly requires sitting, speaking or hearing, and using hands to finger, handle, or feel. This position has standard vision requirements. Vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels.

Work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data. Work occasionally requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
