About the Position

As a Surgical Tech with Harris Health System, you will assist the surgical team during operative procedures by utilizing proper aseptic technique. You will need current and up-to-date knowledge of equipment, suture, and procedures being performed at the hospital. The Operating Room Tech will prepare the OR and ensure all necessary equipment has been disinfected, assembled, and is in working order. You will also aid in preparing the patient by cleaning, shaving, and disinfecting the area that will be operated on. During surgery, you will pass sterile surgical equipment, cut sutures, operate lights, and help dress wounds as needed while observing the patient's vitals and status.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Graduate from an accredited educational program for surgical technologists
• Certified as a Surgical Technologist by National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting or National Center for Competency Testing
• Current CPR certification
• 1 year of surgical tech experience
