Operator Trainers/Technical Trainer provide high quality operational training and documentation for all Epiroc Divisional related products and services. The successful candidate will work with the Parts and Service Division’s (PSD) global training department, to facilitate US Customer Center (US CC) compliance and participation in divisional initiatives. This role will achieve growth initiatives by focusing on improved customer satisfaction through effective communication and partnership with the goal to achieve best service provider status among all current and prospective customers. The Operator Trainer/Technical Trainer will spend a portion of their time working underground, so candidates must be comfortable working in that environment.
The preferred locations for this role are within close proximity to the following Epiroc service center locations: Elko NV, Tucson AZ, Denver CO, Salt Lake City UT and Garland, TX, although consideration may be given to candidates who are in close proximity (within 2 to 3 hours) to an international airport.
The work environment in the mining and construction industries has unique and interesting challenges one won't find in other professions. It is all-encompassing, anywhere from office attire one day to working in a rough and rugged environment another day in some of the most beautiful and pristine areas of the world. This position is considered safety sensitive and in all situations, an emphasis on personal health and safety must be maintained.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for supporting for all Epiroc product lines through Service Centers, Dealer Partners and end users, Sales Organization, Product Companies and Product Support Technicians
- Develop and provide high quality safety and operational training on all Epiroc divisional related products and services as requested for operators, mechanics, other Epiroc employees and external customers
- Participate in the creation, documentation and implementation of operations training to assist service centers, dealers and customers to achieve increased and safe levels of efficiency and productivity
- Deliver training in underground mining environments
- Manage, coach, train and lead employees in a fashion that is consistent with our company’s culture and management philosophy by developing training plans, personally and organizationally, for new models and options
- Utilize Epiroc published documentation wherever applicable in order to present a consistent and repeatable message to customers, aligned with the Epiroc global training standard strategy
- Facilitate Capital Equipment and Rock Drilling Tools Division testing, to maximize product longevity for the customer
- Maintain Epiroc superior standards through training and mentoring of all local personnel with a focus on technicians working in partnership with all Epiroc groups and customers to sustain product performance
- Participate in the creation, documentation and implementation of operations training to assist service centers, dealers and customers to achieve increased levels of efficiency/ productivity and in alignment with Epiroc Technical Information Services (TIS) documentation
- Ensure that the correct responsible departments are involved in the development of procedures to ensure that all Epiroc USA company activities are performed in accordance with Epiroc published documentation training standards whenever possible
- Drive product operational feedback up to the responsible Divisions through the use of Epiroc preferred company reporting systems, personal communication and product counsel communication
- Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor and communication with customers and internal staff at all times
Requirements:
- Suitable combination of education and industry related experience; credentialed technical abilities or ability to achieve Epiroc credentials upon employment is required
- A cursory understanding of industrial/commercial fluid power, low voltage electrical control systems, diesel engines and rotary screw compressors is preferred
- High level understanding of the various material extraction (“Mining”) processes as well as application knowledge of drilling, excavating and material handling associated with the above-mentioned processes is preferred
- An advanced understanding of the control and navigation systems used on Epiroc and other OEM equipment
- Must possess an active, valid driver’s license
- Surface and Underground mining experience is required
- Upon employment, possess required US Department of Labor (MSHA) and Safe Start Certificates, or agree to complete the training program(s), provided by Epiroc, to acquire the Training Certificates
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
- Technical writing ability to provide documentation of events that allow accurate reenactment by stakeholders, not directly involved, to have a complete understanding of the event or events in order to apply technical or engineering support to prevent the reoccurrence and improve the product for future use
- Ability to work with a team, independently and be a self-starter
- Travel is expected, amount will be dependent on employee location relative to the US service centers, dealers and customer locations, with both driving and air as the primary modes, though mainly the domestic US with some international travel
Pay Range:
$92,000 - $121,000 per year (This is a salaried position. Compensation determination based upon job related factors, such as experience, education, geographic location and other criterion).
