Purpose: Provides intense support remediation to identified students who have academic deficiencies due to COVID Learning Loss.

Details: This is a part-time position that will run through the end of the academic school year. Tutors can expect to work 4 – 12 hours a week with scheduling being a two or four day position.

• Provides direct instruction to assigned students.
• Plans for lessons to be taught in small or individual groups.
• Employs a variety of instructional techniques and media consistent with the needs and capabilities of the student groups involved.
• Analyzes individual student progress and data to make instructional decisions.
• Develops and maintains resources to support students.
• Establishes and maintains effective classroom management and administer discipline in accordance with board policies, administrative regulations, and campus management plans.
• Participates in training and staff development as needed including Zearn and/or Amplify.
• Establishes with students a rapport that is friendly, but not familiar.
• Presents a positive role model for students that supports the mission of the charter school.
• Keeps teachers informed of student progress.
• Maintains a positive and professional relationship with all colleagues, students, parents, and community members through effective communication both verbally and written.
• Uses acceptable communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
• Keeps teacher informed of interactions with students.
• Flexibility in working with all students.
• Maintains confidentiality in all matters.
• Models non-discriminatory practices in all activities.
• Demonstrates behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible.
• Compiles, maintains, and files all reports, records, and other documents required.
• Follows charter school safety protocols and emergency procedures.
• Ensures compliance with all local policies and state and federal statutes including the Educator Code of Ethics.
• Uses effective verbal and written communications skills as well as a high degree of literacy and higher order thinking skills
• Exhibits strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
• Follows written and/or oral directions and to exercise good judgement are required
• Works effectively and harmoniously with students and school personnel
• Demonstrates success in instructing a small group of students
• Demonstrates working knowledge of the grade level(s)/subject(s) assigned
• Performs such other tasks and accepts such other responsibilities as may be assigned.
