JOB DESCRIPTION

Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence (BBBSI) seeks a full-time Customer Relations Specialist. In this position, the ideal candidate has the chance to support the agency by effectively performing customer relations services for the “Bigs” (volunteers) that serve as mentors. This position is a critical role in efficiently processing volunteers through the enrollment process from inquiry through to the ready to be matched phase. They will be responsible for scheduling volunteer interviews, processing background checks, conducting FBI fingerprint checks, completing references and other pieces of the volunteer screening process. This position reports to the Team Leader, Customer Relations. This position is mostly work from home with weekly travel to BBBSI’s Philadelphia office location and seasonal regional travel within the agency’s seven-county service area in Southeastern PA and Southern NJ to complete volunteer FBI fingerprinting.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Academic Requirements: High School Diploma and 4 years of relevant experience or Associates Degree and 2 years relevant experience or Bachelors Degree

Professional Requirements: Experience working with intake processes, customer service, and documentation preferred; proficiency in using databases for documentation and Microsoft Office software packages including Word, Outlook Access and Excel. Must possess the ability to effectively utilize BBBSI’s internal database systems for tracking and recording information.

Additional Requirements: Must have dependable and daily access to a car, valid driver's license, and meet State-required automobile insurance minimums.
