Field Technician Job at Canary Systems, Inc.
Canary Systems is an electronic hardware and software engineering firm specializing in civil engineering related monitoring and instrumentation applications. Projects include monitoring of earth and concrete dams, bridges, tunnels and buildings. We operate in several markets including construction, mining, geotechnical, industrial and public infrastructure.
We are looking for a person with an electronics and instrumentation background to staff our Tucson, AZ office and support the implementation and support of our systems at various projects. Some travel will be required.
Responsibilities Include:
- Manage project installations
- Manage sub-contractors
- Provide installation services
- Provide training and other services
- Provide troubleshooting and repair services
- Coordinate support or provide support as needed
- Prepare project documentation
Expertise Desired:
- Geotechnical instrumentation including piezometers, extensometers, GPS, total stations
- Electronic monitoring systems
- Communications including wireless and wired technologies
- Software including database technologies
- Geotechnical data reduction and presentation methods
- Geospatial reference systems and databases
Person Best Suited to Position:
- Able to work independently
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift up to 80 lbs.; while performing the duties of this job you may need to stoop, kneel, bend, or crawl
- Work safely for an extended period of time in an outdoor environment
- Highly organized
- Detail oriented
- Self motivated
- Excellent communicator
