The Natural Marketplace is seeking a Part Time Cook in our Organic Deli. The ideal candidate can commit to at least 17 hours a week with an immediate start.

The Organic Deli focuses on providing healthy and nutritious food, appealing to various diets. Foundational knowledge of health and nutrition, along with experience in specialized cooking such as gluten-free or dairy-free is preferred for this position.

Essential Functions:

• Greet and acknowledge customers in a FRIENDLY and professional manner
• Demonstrate a complete understanding of menu items as well as their ingredients and how dishes are prepared and able to explain to guests accurately
• Take customers’ orders, as well as phone orders
• Provide timely and polite service
• Weigh out deli items on deli scale
• Ensure kitchen and dining area is clean and organized
• Restock cutlery, napkins, etc
• Open/close duties
• Additional tasks as required by management

Requirements:

• Reliable and responsible
• COOKING EXPERIENCE, creative and efficient
• Basic knowledge of nutrition and various diets
• Extremely organized and self-motivated
• Excellent customer service skills and a friendly demeanor
• This position works 3 Saturdays a month. Preferred availability of Mon - Saturday 9:30 am to 5:00 pm, but with a max of 20 hours.
